Madagascar, the end: the last two weeks

Once Matt and I return from Isalo (after an odyssey that involved us getting left behind by the grand raid bus, and 27hrs of alternative bus travel including a bandit-favored night bus stretch) my last few days in Madagascar truly fly by.  In the beginning I am struggling to catch up on sleep, wanting to allow my body to rebuild itself.

aaah - on my balcony, already feeling better

As soon as I’m able to walk again without too much trouble – about four days after le grand raid – I catch up on some of the city sightseeing that I’ve been postponing since I arrived in Antananarivo.  That, in addition to my balcony, packing and planning the next few legs of my trip, keeps me busy up until I head to the airport on the afternoon of August 14.

It’s been a great seven weeks, but now it’s time to move on.  South Africa, here I come!
